Printed Circuit Board UL Certification

UL796 is a standard for PWB testing of printed circuit boards
UL94 Fire Test Standard
Flammability testing of plastic materials for instrument and equipment components. In UL94, the test methods for the fire test of laminates are specified, including horizontal fire and vertical fire.
Standard Test Methods 94V-0, 1, 2 (Vertical Burning), 94HB (Horizontal Burning), 94VTM-0, 1, 2 (Vertical Burning of Thin Materials).
UL746E printed circuit board substrate certification standard
For polymeric materials, industrial laminates, filament wound tubing, carbon fibers and printing board materials. The UL746E standard specifies the basic safety-related performance requirements and experimental methods of copper clad laminates.
UL746F flexible printed circuit board certification standard
UL746F is a test standard for flexible material interconnect structures PWBs.
UL common test items
Thermal shock test
Simulates soldering of printed circuit boards during component mounting. The treatment temperature is maintained at 121°C for 1.5 hours, then the sample is placed in the oven, and the temperature is set to the thermal shock temperature and time, eg, 260°C for 10 seconds.
It is required that the electroplating layer shall not be wrinkled, blistered or loose, and the substrate shall not be delaminated.
Coating firmness test
To test the firmness of the wire coating, use pressure-sensitive tape to stick on the wire sample without pretreatment and heat shock test. Requires no plating or wires stuck to the tape.
Coating connection strength and delamination test
The force per conductor width required to pull a conductor a certain distance from the substrate.
Vertical combustion test
First through the state of thermal shock. If green oil is required in production, an additional set of samples covered with green oil shall be provided.
The firmness test of conductive adhesive
Testing of glue-like conductors such as carbon, carbon paste, silver paste or other conductive materials on printed circuit boards. It is required that there shall be no evidence of removal of the conductor pattern after the test.
