Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the left and right rear taillights for the recalled vehicles free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.

 

 

Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd.: recalls some imported Lincoln Navigator vehicles of model year 2021 produced between November 18, 2020 and August 31, 2021, totaling 2,833 vehicles.

Reasons for the recall: Some vehicles have insufficient coverage of the printed circuit board via holes in the battery junction box. Under the action of pollutants and water, the circuit board may be corroded, resulting in short circuit and overheating, and there is a risk of fire.

Mercedes-Benz: Starting from April 29, 2022, some imported GLE SUV vehicles manufactured between May 14, 2019 and February 18, 2020 are recalled, totaling 3,329 units.

Reason for recall: Some vehicle control unit circuit boards may not meet the specifications, posing a safety hazard. Mercedes-Benz will replace the left rear backup light control unit free of charge for the recalled vehicles to eliminate safety hazards.

Hyundai Motor: 8 models produced from 2020 to 2022 are recalled in overseas markets. Hyundai Motors include Santa Fe, Sonata, Veloster Phase N, Santa Cruz, Elantra N and KONA N, and Kia Motors includes Sorento, etc.

Reason for the recall: The electric oil pump in the 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox may have quality problems, and the components on its circuit board may not be welded firmly, which may lead to disengagement during driving. The fault will cause the on-board computer to report an error, display an immediate and safe stop prompt on the dashboard, and put the vehicle into fail-safe mode, potentially leading to an accident.

It is not difficult to see from the the above car recalls that small defects on the circuit boards of automotive electronic equipment may bring significant safety risks.
